Prysmian is seeking a student to join our Purchasing team at our Middlesbrough location for a fixed-term placement. Applicants must be currently pursuing a Bachelor degree and seeking a student placement to support their learning and development.
As a student placement in purchasing, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Assist in expanding our ‘Business-to-Business’ (B2B) e-procurement system into new and existing business areas;
- Manage the B2B process, including system management, user training, and liaising with suppliers regarding potential opportunities;
- Improve internal customer satisfaction by supporting and enhancing procurement cycle efficiencies;
- Manage the Prysmian supplier approval process;
- Support the Central Purchasing Team on ongoing or upcoming projects;
- Investigate invoice discrepancies, communicate contract renewals and terminations, and support our internal contract database;
- Assist in negotiating contracts and establishing pricing agreements;
- Support spend analysis and market research activities worldwide;
- Update the purchasing dashboard monthly for each Material Group;
- Assist with renegotiation of Long Term Agreements and manage small RFQs;
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining SAP supplier prices, analyzing payment terms, and resolving discrepancies.
