Prysmian is a global cabling solutions provider leading the energy transition and digital transformation. We are looking for a Shift Co‑Ordinator to join our team in our Bishopstoke factory! Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the effective performance of the shift in line with the Daily Production Plan, adherence to standards, organisation of product flow, co‑ordination / monitoring of the Manufacturing team, facilitating inter‑departmental actions and resolving problems at the earliest opportunity. This position is working a 3 shift continental Shift Pattern.
What You’ll Do
- Compliance
- Maintain site and company Health & Safety standards, acting as a safety role model at all times.
- Serve as the out‑of‑hours H&S contact and expedite issues when needed.
- Lead initial investigations into accidents, incidents, downtime, and quality issues, identifying root causes and countermeasures.
- Ensure consistent application of Quality and H&S procedures, standards, and work instructions.
- Support Team Leaders with Short Interval Control (SIC), ensuring issues are addressed and tracked.
- Ensure high‑quality handovers, daily checks, and housekeeping are completed.
- Communication
- Provide clear, timely communication to production teams, including briefings and one‑point lessons.
- Deliver thorough shift handovers and compile shift performance reports for the Site Leadership Team.
- Lead start‑ and end‑of‑shift meetings with Production and Maintenance to align priorities.
- Support daily summary and escalation meetings and facilitate smooth cross‑department collaboration.
- People
- Assist in identifying training needs and ensuring training completion.
- Coordinate overtime coverage in line with site rules.
- Act as first point of contact for people matters, including absence reporting, return‑to‑work discussions, and timekeeping issues.
- Manage holiday approvals in accordance with site guidelines.
- Process Flow Management
- Oversee process flow, WIP, and non‑conforming product to set the next shift up for success.
- Support development and execution of the Daily Production Plan, adapting to changes as needed.
- Ensure standards are understood and followed, challenging deviations constructively.
- Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, providing quick support for operational issues.
- Act as the primary site contact during out‑of‑hours operations.
You are the right fit if you have/are
- Proven experience within Quality engineering within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, with a hands‑on, proactive approach.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and good attention to detail, with familiarity in quality standards, testing methods, or statistical tools.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks while staying focused on key priorities.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and colleagues at all levels.
- Background in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience gained in a similar quality role.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt knowledge is beneficial, but not essential.
