Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Eastleigh, Southampton. As a Quality Engineer you will have a broad range of responsibilities in order to ensure that products and processes meet quality standards, customer expectations and relevant regulatory requirements. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, testing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and repeatability as well as working on reducing variations and cost of poor quality.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining quality control plans and procedures.
- Managing customer quality claims, including intercompany issues.
- Managing internal quality non-conformities.
- Monitoring supplier quality performance and managing supplier quality issues.
- Facilitating root-cause analysis and corrective actions using tools like 8D, A3, FMEA, involving cross-functional teams when required.
- Supporting internal and supplier audits.
- Supporting external (e.g., ISO, BASEC) and customer audits when required.
- Monitoring quality KPIs such as COPQ, number of customer claims.
- Analysing quality data in order to identify “data driven” improvement opportunities.
- Maintaining and updating quality management system documentation, in coordination with the UK Quality Systems Manager.
- Conducting tests and inspections on raw materials, components and finished product when required.
- Maintaining measurement and test equipment and ensuring its timely calibration.
- Executing factory quick process audits according to Prysmian rules, ensuring corrective actions are addressed and followed.
- Lead by example to enhance and promote quality culture.
You are the right fit if you have/are:
- Hold previous experience within a Quality position within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ideally hold a relevant degree within Quality or Engineering field, however this is not essential.
- Enjoy being hands-on, with a quality engineering mindset to drive improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.
- Experience with quality standards, testing methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
- Results driven and capable to multitask, but also able to focus on the right priorities, ensuring both effectiveness and efficiency in work.
- Hold excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document findings clearly.
