Engineering estimator required for expanding, Torfaen based engineering company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring competitive, profitable bids. This role involves analysing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labour, and time costs. The estimator will work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to support project delivery from tender through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for projects.
- Assess material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct risk analysis and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and pricing.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop accurate scopes of work.
- Maintain up to date cost databases and historic records.
