Financial crime responsibilities
- Support the execution of the Life Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) including tracking actions and contributing to review and challenge activities.
- Assist in the independent oversight of Life Client IFA and Other Third Party risk decisioning processes.
- Support the review and challenge of Life 1LoD Risk and Controls Self Assessment actions.
- Assist in the preparation of UK Life MLRO reports and other Senior Management reporting in line with Group Financial Crime Governance and MI Framework.
- Disseminate Group financial crime training to the Life business and track completion of mandatory and role‑specific training.
- Support the preparation of REP-CRIM and other regulatory reports for applicable Life legal entities in the UK.
- Provide day‑to‑day advice and guidance to Life 1LoD teams on Group Financial Crime Policies and Standards and relevant UK regulations.
- Assist with the application processes for the registration of Life entities as Annex I financial institutions.
Additional responsibilities
- Support the adoption of the Group issue management framework for financial crime and the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool (MetricStream).
- Assist in implementing actions for UK 2LoD arising from Assurance / Audit Findings relating to UK Life businesses.
- Other tasks and activities within the scope of your role or team as required from time to time.
Skill requirements
- Experience within financial crime and a strong understanding of the financial crime risks inherent in the insurance sector. (Essential)
- Working knowledge of UK financial crime laws and regulations including AML, Sanctions, ABC and fraud prevention. (Essential)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to support risk decisioning and control enhancement.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders within and outside of the team.
