The Role
We are seeking an individual to join our Product Development team. Our team manages the product development lifecycle and plays a critical role in creating, structuring, and delivering innovative investment strategies (public and private) to global investors across all channels (including retail, institutional, insurance and private wealth). The team is also responsible for the business oversight, administration, and coordination of strategic change efforts related to commingled investment products (funds). This role is based out of our London, UK office and will be focused on European UCITS, AIFs and other alternative vehicles primarily targeted for the Wealth channel in the EMEA region. The individual will need to forge strong relationships and collaborate closely with the European client group and other global support functions primarily based in the US as well as such as legal, marketing, compliance, operations and investment teams. Strong project management skills, detail-orientation, experience in the asset management industry and the ability to work independently are a must. Clear communication and teamwork will be critical characteristics necessary to succeed in this role.
This position reports to a Director of Product Development based in London, UK. However, the individual who fills the role will be part of a larger global product development team based both in London, UK and Newark, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has worked in an investment product related area in the past, or has transferable skills, who is motivated to learn and get exposed to the wide breadth of business and strategy of the PGIM organization. What you can expect
- Support the lead Product Developers for UCITS, QIFs and non-US Wealth products for a variety of initiatives.
- Support Distribution teams across PGIM in their fundraising efforts and resolve day-to-day product-related issues.
- Assist in all aspects of the product lifecycle, including project management support for fund launches, mergers, in-kind transfers, liquidations and product changes.
- Drive product improvement initiatives, including but not limited to changes to workflows, database maintenance, adaptation to new regulatory challenges, policy updates, vendor changes, operational and strategic changes.
- Maintain the product development and launch pipeline and other product support tools on TEAMS and SharePoint.
- Lead on the coordination and review of fund rebates, record keeping, share class launches and closures procedures and general fund operational queries.
- Support review of legal, marketing, RFP and other documentation from a commercial perspective, escalating any questions or issues as required.
- Longer term, develop the necessary leadership and project management skills necessary to lead implementation of product initiatives or related key aspects.
You will be supported by the team to ensure excellent levels of client service are achieved.
What you will bring
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in either product, business development, client management or operations within the asset or wealth management, consulting or investment banking industry.
- Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously; strong execution and follow through skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectually curious, goal-oriented, self-starter individual with a growth mindset and bias toward action and a commitment to work with integrity to deliver high quality results.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to take on personal accountability and enjoy problem solving.
- Clear communication (written and verbal), excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to easily collaborate in a team environment across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and build partnerships across functions.
- Proficiency in full Microsoft suite.
- Undergraduate degree required.
What will set you apart?
- Specific experience with European structures (AIF, UCITS and Semi Liquid vehicles) or transferable skills ETFs or Collective Investment Trusts.
- An understanding of the asset management industry, investment products and the role of key support functions in asset management.
- Being in the process of pursuing technical training, continuing education, and/or advanced designations.
- Strong project management (or desire to learn) and communication skills.
- Experience working with colleagues across various locations and time zones.
- Genuine interest in the European regulatory landscape impacting the asset management and fund industry, including those related to Environmental Social Governance (“ESG”).
- Personable with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
