What you will do:

  • The credit research team within PGIM Credit Fixed Income has an opening for an ESG Investment Analyst. This role is on a dedicated ESG research team within the broader credit team.
  • The firm aims to integrate ESG factors likely to influence the financial value of its investments into its fundamental credit analyses.
  • ESG assessments of individual issuers are largely the responsibility of credit research analysts and economists.
  • As a member of the ESG Research team, you would support the development and maintenance of the ESG frameworks and tools used for issuer-level analysis, assist credit research analysts in applying those frameworks and tools, contribute to higher-level, thematic ESG research, assist in the firm’s ESG engagement activities, and generally act as a source of expertise on ESG topics.

What you can expect:

  • Supporting senior analysts on the ESG team to cover specific sectors and countries, which will also involve partnering with PGIM FI’s credit research analysts and economists.
  • Maintaining and enhancing PGIM FI’s approach to analyzing ESG risks and opportunities as well as the proprietary framework for applying its ESG impact ratings.
  • Undertaking sector, thematic, and issuer-level ESG research across all fixed income asset classes and regions.
  • Participating in ESG engagement efforts in close partnership with credit research analysts and economists.
  • Contributing to ESG-related thought leadership for use by PGIM Fixed Income and its clients as well as other relevant external-facing ESG-related communication.
  • Recommending and developing new analytical tools, and working with the firm’s technology solutions group to implement these where needed.
  • Supporting the client advisory group to communicate the firm’s ESG approach to clients.

What you will bring:

  • A strong interest in ESG-related topics and research.
  • Excellent analytical skills, as well as creativity and a proven capacity for critical thinking.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong personal interest in ESG subject matter; ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Competency in moderate data analysis; strong Excel skills and at least some meaningful experience with / knowledge of coding.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and concepts at a level of detail adapted to the audience.
  • Clear capacity to maintain focus and deliver required outputs on time.
  • Self-motivation, self-reliance and good organizational skills; many aspects of the role are unstructured and the candidate will be expected to add and develop new ideas and initiatives.
  • Strong written and spoken English language skills.

What will set you apart?

  • Worked in a position with at some ESG/sustainability-related responsibilities.
  • A relevant advanced degree and/or CFA.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, MSCI and ISS, and/or Aladdin.
  • Experience in fixed income and/or asset management.
