What you will do
We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Junior Analyst to join our Global Macroeconomic Research team. Based in our central London office on a hybrid basis, you will supports the development of macroeconomic insights that inform investment strategy across global Public and Private Fixed Income portfolios. You will contribute valuable input to a wide range of research efforts, from high-frequency data analysis to thematic deep dives, and will have the opportunity to support the team globally.
What you can expect
- Contribute to regular, thematic research pieces on key global macroeconomic issues, drawing on relevant data, conducting evidence-based analysis, and shaping the overall narrative.
- Analyze high-frequency economic indicators and financial market data to monitor trends and anticipate turning points.
- Develop and maintain a mini chartpack tracking key indicators across major global economies, using sources such as Bloomberg, Haver, and national statistics agencies.
- Conduct timely analysis on emerging, high-impact macroeconomic developments for internal stakeholders.
- Draft memos, briefing decks, and visualizations that clearly communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assist in preparing presentation materials and talking points for internal investment teams, executive leadership, clients, and media.
- Coordinate across business units and with external partners to gather inputs and ensure alignment on messaging and insights.
- Help manage project timelines and deliverables across a fast-paced, high-output research agenda.
- Play an active role in influencing and informing the strategic direction of global macroeconomic research themes.
What you will bring
- Bachelors or Master degree in economics, mathematics or related field with some work experience at a public policy or financial institution.
- Background in macroeconomic research, investment strategy, policy analysis, consulting, or related area.
- Strong academic grounding in macroeconomics, international finance, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Excel and at least one statistical software package (e.g., Stata, R, or MATLAB); familiarity with Python is a plus.
- Experience with data platforms such as Bloomberg, Haver, and Eikon; knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau and Macrobond is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Proactive, adaptable, and highly motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, though not required.
