We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the SMEs in Change Excellence with the delivery of our colleague continuous improvement agenda. This role sits within our newly established Change Excellence Team, which exists to raise the bar on how change is planned, governed and delivered across M&G. Your role will focus on taking a defined strategic direction and turning it into reality, managing scope, dependencies, risks and delivery across multiple workstreams. You will ensure that tooling investments are implemented effectively, embedded well, and deliver tangible improvements for teams delivering change.
Key Responsibilities for this Role
- Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
- Help the team to decide the best approach.
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of the colleague continuous improvement agenda.
- Translate high‑level strategy into clear plans, milestones, deliverables and governance.
- Manage delivery across multiple workstreams spanning business and technology teams.
- Actively manage dependencies, risks, issues and trade‑offs across the programme.
- Ensure delivery remains on track, within agreed scope, cost and timelines.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align priorities, escalate issues and support decision‑making.
- Establish and maintain effective programme governance, reporting and controls.
- Track benefits and outcomes to ensure tooling delivers measurable value.
- Work closely with Change Excellence colleagues to embed consistent standards, ways of working and tooling capabilities via effective change management.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve how change is planned, governed and reported.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Senior delivery leadership through proven experience managing large, complex initiatives that span business and technology.
- Structured delivery approach with a strong grounding in project and programme management disciplines, with experience across Agile, hybrid and waterfall environments.
- Hands‑on involvement in delivering enterprise tooling initiatives (e.g. portfolio management, planning or transformation platforms).
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, managing expectations and navigating competing priorities.
- Risk & dependency management through a strong capability in identifying issues early and driving resolution.
- Outcome‑focused mindset and clear on how to define success, measure progress and ensure benefits are realised.
- Clear communicator and able to provide concise, meaningful updates and translate complexity into practical actions.
- Delivery pragmatism and comfortable with making decisions, managing constraints to keep work moving forward.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re someone who’s genuinely curious - the kind of person who asks thoughtful questions and digs a little deeper to understand what’s really going on. You enjoy working with others and naturally bring people together, even when things feel a bit unclear. You think ahead, notice patterns early and stay focused on creating real value for the people around you. Most of all, you care about making things better - for colleagues, for customers, and for the workplace as a whole. If this sounds like you, we want you to apply!
