The Role

This role sits within our Technology unit, supporting M&G Life ambitions. Our technology purpose is clear: drive growth through consistent, trusted, customer-centric solutions. By challenging the status quo and staying agile, we align technology with business strategies and enable innovation.

Purpose of the Role

  • Provide leadership for technology within the business line, setting strategic direction and ensuring governance across all service management and delivery functions.
  • Own the technology strategy and roadmap, driving alignment with business objectives and ensuring seamless integration of services into operational processes.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives, from strategic planning through execution, service transition, and continuous improvement in BAU.
  • Champion service excellence and innovation, leveraging emerging technologies, automation, and best practices to deliver resilient, scalable, and future-ready solutions.
  • Act as the accountable authority for technology priorities, balancing transformation ambitions with operational stability, risk management, and cost optimisation.
  • Shape and enforce service management standards, ensuring consistent performance, compliance, and customer experience across all technology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own E2E Delivery: Lead medium-to-high complexity technology programs, defining objectives, scope, resources, and expected outcomes.
  • Technology Strategy Execution: Translate strategic goals into actionable delivery plans, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and innovation roadmap.
  • Governance & Oversight: Implement robust governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks across all technology initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate program outcomes and benefits to senior leadership and business stakeholders to secure buy-in.
  • Innovation Leadership: Identify opportunities for automation, cloud adoption, and digital transformation to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Forecast budgets, manage cost drivers, and optimize resource allocation for both change and run functions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track delivery against KPIs, proactively address risks, and ensure benefits realization post-implementation.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Build strong relationships with technology partners and suppliers to ensure timely, quality delivery.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Conduct lessons-learned sessions and mentor project managers to uplift delivery capability across the team.
