M&G is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior UI Designer to join our Digital Experience Centre of Excellence (CoE) on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver best-in-class digital interfaces that support our customers, advisers, and internal teams. You will play a key role in elevating visual design standards, driving consistency across digital platforms, and translating complex business and regulatory requirements into intuitive, accessible, and engaging user interfaces.

Working closely with UX designers, product owners, brand and senior stakeholders, you will help deliver high-quality digital experiences aligned to M&G’s brand, design system and strategic goals. A portfolio is required to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of high-quality UI solutions across web and mobile platforms.
  • Create pixel-perfect, accessible, and scalable interface designs aligned to brand and design system standards.
  • Contribute to and evolve M&G’s design system and component library.
  • Translate complex user journeys, business requirements, and regulatory needs into clear and intuitive UI solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with UX, research, product, engineering, and content teams throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Present and articulate design rationale confidently to stakeholders and all levels.
  • Work within agile product teams to deliver iterative improvements and enhancements.
  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility (e.g., WACAG) and usability standards.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other designers where appropriate.
  • Support stakeholder management across business, compliance, risk and technology functions.

Key skills & experience:

  • Provide experience as a senior UI Designer, Digital Designer, or similar role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high quality UI work across responsive digital platforms (portfolio required to apply).
  • Expert proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong understanding of design systems, component-based design, and scalable UI frameworks.
  • Excellent visual design skills including typography, layout, colour theory, and interaction design.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Experience working in cross-functional agile teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide design direction and elevate quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in financial services or within a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale digital products.
