About the role
We are looking for a senior tax leader to join M&G’s Group Tax team as Head of Life Tax, leading our Life tax function and supporting a dynamic and evolving business. This is a high-impact role at the centre of the Group’s financial and regulatory agenda, combining technical expertise, commercial insight and strategic influence.
What you’ll do
- Lead all aspects of Life tax compliance and reporting, ensuring high-quality delivery in a well-controlled environment.
- Act as a trusted adviser to the Life business, supporting strategic initiatives, transactions and regulatory change.
- Manage key relationships with HMRC, auditors and senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk and the business.
- Play a key role in managing tax risk and contributing to the Group’s wider tax strategy and control framework.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, driving capability development and continuous improvement.

- Deep expertise in Life / insurance taxation, with strong technical and judgement skills.
- Proven experience leading teams and working with senior stakeholders in complex organisations.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear business advice.
