Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, comfortable and supportive home for the individuals we support.
- Assist the individuals we support to present themselves as valued members of the local community.
- Ensure that the rights of the people we support are always protected and respected.
- Liaise with other professionals on behalf of the individuals we support.
- Participate in the opportunities provided for training and development.
- Provide emotional and practical support to the individuals, assisting and promoting personal care needs in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
- Handle medication safely and train to full compliance with CQC requirements.
- Support service users to achieve independence in all areas of their lives by providing information, training, and encouragement.
- Cover the work of the team during absences, vacancies or when a colleague is under pressure.
- Liaise and coordinate with team members to provide cohesive, high quality service and ensure CQC legislation and guidelines are followed.
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
- Share knowledge and skills with other team members.
- Be supportive, respectful and empathic to service users, colleagues and visitors.
Qualifications
- Education: GCSE or equivalent (required). If you have not completed a care certificate in the first 12 weeks of the role, you will be required to enroll and attain it, and subsequently progress to Level 3 in Health and Social Care, if not already obtained.
- Experience: Mental Health Support Work: 1 year (preferred).
- Location: Manchester M40 8WN (required). United Kingdom (required).
