We are looking for a skilled Shift Engineer to join our Data Centre Operations team, supporting a mission-critical environment that demands the highest levels of reliability and performance. As a Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and operating critical infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime across electrical and mechanical systems within a 24/7 facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor and operate critical systems including UPS, generators, HVAC (CRAC/CRAH), and electrical distribution
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive faults
- Carry out fault finding and first-line repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
- Respond to alarms and incidents, ensuring swift resolution and minimal downtime
- Liaise with subcontractors and oversee specialist maintenance works
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
- Follow strict health & safety procedures, including PTW and RAMS
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a critical environment (data centres, hospitals, industrial sites, etc.)
- Strong electrical or mechanical background
- Knowledge of UPS, generators, and cooling systems
- Ability to work independently on a shift rota (days & nights)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
