An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Data Centre Shift Manager to join one of the UK's leading providers of critical engineering services at a state-of-the-art data centre in Slough.

This is a key leadership position where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of a mission-critical facility, ensuring the highest levels of service delivery, technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

You'll lead a team of skilled engineers, oversee critical infrastructure, and ensure all maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with strict SLA and compliance requirements.

You will be responsible for maintaining critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, managing engineering resources, driving compliance and ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of engineers within a live critical environment.

Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and remedial works are completed safely and on schedule.

Maintain compliance with all contractual KPIs, SLAs and Health & Safety legislation.

Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, ensuring service levels consistently exceed expectations.

Manage contractors, including supervision, permits and quality of work.

Coordinate quotations and surveys for remedial and project works.

Respond to critical incidents, outages and emergency situations, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

Allocate engineering resources effectively to maximise operational performance.

Undertake duties as the site's LV/HV Appointed Person.

Apply a risk-based maintenance strategy across all critical plant and infrastructure.

Ensure all critical systems, electrical infrastructure, computer rooms and client services remain fully operational.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend operational enhancements.

Work closely with the Senior Technical Manager, Contract Manager and QHSE teams to maintain full compliance and audit readiness.

Mentor, develop and support engineers while ensuring subcontractor performance meets company standards.

Essential Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience within a Data Centre or other Critical Environment.

HV Authorised Person (HVAP) qualification - in date or lapsed (essential).

City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).

Strong knowledge of electrical building services within critical facilities.

Experience leading engineering teams within a mission-critical environment.

Excellent communication, leadership and customer relationship skills.

Strong understanding of Permit to Work systems, compliance and Health & Safety.
