An established facilities services provider is currently recruiting a Shift Lead to work within a large, operationally critical Data Centre in North West London. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable leading from the front while remaining technically involved in day-to-day operations. Working as part of a shift team, the Shift Lead will take responsibility for the site during their shift, ensuring building systems remain fully operational and any issues are dealt with quickly and safely.
The role will involve:
- Acting as the senior engineer on shift and leading a small team
- Monitoring and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Responding to alarms, faults, and unplanned issues as they arise
- Completing shift handovers, reports, and operational logs
- Managing contractors on site and controlling permits to work
- Ensuring health, safety, and compliance standards are consistently met
This role would suit someone who:
- Has experience working in a data centre or other critical environment
- Comes from a strong electrical or mechanical background
- Has previously supervised engineers or taken charge of a shift
