We are looking for an experienced and driven Shift Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a high-profile central London site. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership capabilities, a background in building services or facilities management, and a passion for delivering service excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Working a shift position, 4 on 4 off days and night rota.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership
    • Support the senior site manager in the daily running of operations
    • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring completion to quality and safety standards
    • Coordinate workload and rotas with the helpdesk and shift teams
    • Monitor team KPIs and performance statistics, driving improvements where necessary
    • Maintain compliance with all health & safety requirements through regular inspections and audits
  • Team Management
    • Supervise and develop a team of engineers and technicians
    • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews (PDRs), and manage absences
    • Lead recruitment activities and assist with onboarding
    • Identify training needs and support individual development plans
    • Handle first-level disciplinary investigations as required
  • Customer Focus
    • Maintain a professional relationship with the client and stakeholders
    • Ensure timely communication and feedback reporting
    • Identify and support the delivery of additional service opportunities
  • Process & Performance
    • Contribute to planning and execution of maintenance schedules and projects
    • Assist in quote preparation and supplier management
    • Identify process improvement opportunities across operations
    • Take part in emergency response procedures and business continuity planning
  • Self-Management
    • Maintain efficient time management and task prioritisation
    • Stay informed through regular internal training and updates
    • Promote a positive working culture through example
  • Financial Awareness
    • Understand SLAs and KPIs and ensure compliance
    • Monitor and control additional cost areas such as overtime and materials
    • Support monthly performance and contract reviews
Experience:
  • Proven supervisory experience, ideally in a shift-based environment
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience working in high-footfall, customer-facing environments (e.g., retail, public spaces)
Qualifications:
  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ) – Essential
