Snr Cost Manager – Construction / Senior Construction Cost Manager
Location: London, Hybrid

Our client has over 20 years’ experience in designing, building and operating energy-efficient, reliable data centres – hosting significant financial, media, corporate and cloud wholesale providers across the world.
As the Senior Construction Cost Manager, you will be involved with significant portfolio of project across EMEA.
You will support the EMEA Director of Construction Cost Management in developing and implementing industry leading cost management and estimating across the GDC (Global Data Centers) EMEA program. This includes the full end-to-end pre-contract and construction cost management.
The role will involve interfacing across multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders as well as developing global standards.
Responsibilities
- With a right-first-time mindset, utilising an excellent level of experience and understanding of key cost drivers to make informed decisions on appropriate costs for inclusion across the EMEA portfolio.
- Responsible for undertaking and overseeing commercial outputs of the internal and external cost teams.
- Managing the assessment, creation and reduction of cost of development benchmarks for reference design, expansion (new site developments) including regional and sub-regional cost variances and considerations
- Supporting with global standardisation of cost management processes
- Undertaking a project and programme change management process, including pro-active trend analysis to identify opportunities for reduction
- Undertaking timely, accurate and detailed end-to-end cost management including cost reporting, cashflow forecasting and benchmarking at project and programme level
- Interfacing with the GDC EMEA, finance, asset management and controlling teams.
Experience /Education
- Experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
- Preferably Degree / Masters in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
- Preferably Data Center experience, but not a pre-requisite
- Pre-contract and post-contract experience
- Business fluent in English, another language such as German is an advantage.
- Experience of managing others
- Good communication skills, flexible, proactive approach and good stakeholder management
- Ability to cope with tight deadlines, prioritise workloads and maintain a consistent, high standard of output
- Flexible to travel for meetings / site visits / collaboration time across multiple locations
