We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join a growing mission-critical facilities team supporting a live data centre environment in the Surrey area. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer with experience in critical environments to work within a high-availability operation supporting enterprise and hyperscale infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems
  • Supporting UPS, generators, cooling systems, HVAC, and BMS infrastructure
  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Responding to alarms and critical incidents
  • Managing permits to work and ensuring H&S compliance
  • Supporting contractors and specialist vendors onsite
  • Maintaining operational logs and reports
  • Supporting resilience testing and operational improvements

Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a data centre, critical environment, or building services role
  • Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Knowledge of critical cooling and power systems
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications Preferred

  • NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical
  • HV/AP training beneficial
  • IOSH or NEBOSH advantageous
