We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join a growing mission-critical facilities team supporting a live data centre environment in the Surrey area. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer with experience in critical environments to work within a high-availability operation supporting enterprise and hyperscale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Supporting UPS, generators, cooling systems, HVAC, and BMS infrastructure
- Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Responding to alarms and critical incidents
- Managing permits to work and ensuring H&S compliance
- Supporting contractors and specialist vendors onsite
- Maintaining operational logs and reports
- Supporting resilience testing and operational improvements
Experience Required
- Previous experience in a data centre, critical environment, or building services role
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
- Knowledge of critical cooling and power systems
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications Preferred
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical
- HV/AP training beneficial
- IOSH or NEBOSH advantageous
