TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR – CRITICAL ENVIRONMENT

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, Days

Employment Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join a leading facilities management team operating within a highly critical technical environment in Northolt.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with a background in critical facilities, data centres, building services or complex technical environments to take responsibility for the day-to-day technical operation of the site.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to the engineering team, oversee maintenance activities and contractors, and ensure the facility operates safely, reliably and in accordance with all required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day supervision of the engineering team.
  • Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure critical and non-critical plant and building services remain operational.
  • Provide technical support and escalation for complex faults and equipment failures.
  • Coordinate engineers, technicians and specialist contractors.
  • Manage contractor activities and ensure works are completed safely and to the required standard.
  • Review and implement RAMS, SOPs, EOPs, Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.
  • Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure PPM completion within required timescales.
  • Conduct regular plant inspections and engineering audits.
  • Monitor BMS and associated building management systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation and operational reports.
  • Support incident management and emergency response procedures.
  • Liaise with the client and wider management team regarding technical issues and site performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, maintenance standards and operational efficiency.
  • Support engineering audits, statutory inspections and compliance requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with health & safety and company procedures.

Technical Environment

The role will provide responsibility across a range of critical and building services infrastructure, including:

  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • LV electrical distribution
  • Switchgear
  • HVAC and cooling systems
  • AHUs
  • BMS / controls
  • Pumps and motors
  • Emergency systems
  • General building services

About You

We're looking for an experienced engineering professional with previous experience within a data centre, critical environment, commercial, industrial or similarly complex facility.

You should have:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Technical Manager, Lead Engineer, Shift Lead or Senior Engineer.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Proven experience supervising engineers, technicians and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of critical infrastructure and building services.
  • Experience managing PPM and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Strong fault-finding and technical problemsolving skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and third-party service providers.
  • Good understanding of RAMS, SOPs, EOPs, LOTO and Permit to Work procedures.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications.
  • A proactive approach to safety, compliance and operational excellence.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent Monday-Friday, day-based opportunity for an experienced Shift Lead, Lead Engineer or Engineering Supervisor looking to take on greater technical and operational responsibility.

You will play a key role in leading the engineering function, maintaining high technical standards and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of a complex facility.
