We are currently seeking an experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join our growing team, covering London and the South East. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a stable Monday‑Friday role, competitive salary, and the chance to work on a wide range of commercial and industrial boiler systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial and industrial boiler plant and heating systems.
- Respond to reactive breakdowns, diagnose faults accurately, and complete repairs efficiently.
- Perform detailed fault finding across electrical, mechanical, and gas/oil boiler components.
- Undertake boiler installations, commissioning, and decommissioning when required.
- Conduct combustion analysis to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance.
- Complete gas safety inspections and maintain all relevant certification records.
- Identify and repair issues with pumps, valves, plate heat exchangers, flue systems, and control panels.
- Provide clear technical reports detailing work completed, parts used, and recommendations.
- Deliver a professional service to clients, offering technical advice and updates when required.
- Manage van stock and inventory effectively.
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota when required.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations including Gas Safe, OFTEC, LOLER, COSHH, and CDM.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heating & Ventilation, Gas Engineering, or similar.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working on commercial or industrial boiler systems.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across multiple boiler manufacturers.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Current Commercial Gas Safe certifications, including:
- COCN1 - Core Commercial Gas Safety
- ICPN1 - Installation of Commercial Pipework
- CIGA1 - Commercial Indirect Fired Heating Appliances
- CDGA1 - Commercial Direct Fired Heating Appliances
- TPCP1 / TPCP1A - Testing & Purging of Pipework
- CORT1 - (Desirable but not essential)
