As a Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring all mechanical systems and equipment remain safe, reliable and fully operational. You will work as part of a professional engineering team, responding to faults, completing PPMs and helping maintain the highest possible standards across the building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently
  • Maintain pumps, valves, AHUs, HVAC and associated mechanical systems
  • Complete PPM schedules and maintenance records
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard
  • Work closely with the wider engineering and facilities team
  • Support contractors where required
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety procedures

Ideally, you will have:

  • Recognised mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship
  • Strong commercial building maintenance experience
  • Mechanical maintenance experience within a large or complex site
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive approach to maintenance
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work a shift-based role
