We are currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a reputable facilities management team in Southeast London. This is a day shift role working on a static site, ideal for an engineer looking for a stable, long-term position with a strong salary package and support structure in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems
  • Attending and resolving reactive breakdowns and faults
  • Maintaining pumps, motors, valves, pipework, pressurisation units, expansion vessels
  • Servicing air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units (FCUs)
  • Basic fault finding on BMS and HVAC systems
  • Hot and cold-water system maintenance, including water temperature checks and flushing
  • Small plumbing repairs and plant room inspections
  • Working closely with electrical and fabric teams on site
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
  • Updating job sheets and logbooks accurately

Requirements:

  • Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3)
  • Strong background in commercial building maintenance
  • Experience working with HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, and plant equipment
  • Good understanding of PPM and reactive tasks
  • Basic knowledge of BMS systems desirable
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamworking ability
  • Right to work in the UK
