We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Shift Technician to join the operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of critical data centre infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and customer service standards are maintained within a mission-critical environment. The role offers a clear pathway to permanent employment for high-performing individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform remote hands services for customers, including equipment installation, decommissioning, cabling, patching, and basic troubleshooting.
- Support customer implementations and infrastructure changes.
- Carry out cross-connect and disconnect activities for fibre and copper cabling.
- Monitor environmental conditions and critical infrastructure systems.
- Maintain accurate asset management and documentation records.
- Ensure racks, suites, and technical areas are maintained to high operational standards.
Facilities & Critical Infrastructure
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and faults within agreed SLAs.
- Escalate critical issues and support root cause investigations.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with site procedures and safety requirements.
- Support UPS, generators, cooling systems, power distribution, and associated critical infrastructure under supervision where required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all Digital Realty health, safety, and security procedures.
- Follow RAMS, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
- Participate in permit-to-work processes.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and reporting standards.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site compliance requirements.
