Our Client is a global leader in integrated facilities management and engineering services. We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Technical Manager to join our growing team in East London / Docklands area. This is a key position within our technical operations function, responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of critical and non-critical engineering systems across a major data centre campus.
As a Technical Manager, you will demonstrate strong technical leadership, a proactive approach to risk management, and a passion for fostering excellence across engineering teams.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance delivery—balancing cost efficiency with high performance.
- Act as a focal point for technical leadership, providing expert guidance to engineers and site management.
- Support and maintain compliance with all health & safety procedures and statutory regulations.
- Audit and maintain technical documentation such as switching schedules, SOPs, and risk assessments.
- Lead incident management, conduct root cause analysis, and produce technical reports.
- Drive a positive culture of safety, reliability, and professional development.
- Support the creation and delivery of site-specific training programs and authorisation levels (HV/LV/Confined Space).
Qualified Electrician (Apprenticeship, HND, or City & Guilds) with 18th Edition Electrical Regulations certification. Proven experience managing critical environments or data centres. Confident managing safety compliance, permits-to-work, and risk assessments. Operational knowledge of Health & Safety management systems (IOSH or equivalent certification). Understanding of water hygiene (L8), BMS and HVAC systems, and system integration and handover experience. Must be an HV Authorised Person (HVAP) with demonstrable experience enabling appointment at Senior Authorised Person (SAP) level.
