The role of Payroll Coordinator is based in Leeds, LS27 0RY (Hybrid available, 3 days in office and 2 WFH, alternating weekly). The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, totalling 37.50 hours per week. The salary is up to £33k pa DOE, with 22 holiday days plus bank holidays, employee discounts via Perkbox, life insurance, parking on site, a cycle to work scheme, access to a virtual GP, and access to a health and wellbeing app.

As the Payroll Coordinator, you will work closely with the HR Shared Services Manager to manage and process the monthly payroll, ensuring calculations and deductions have been processed correctly and promptly, meeting strict deadlines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing statutory payments
  • Calculating starter and leaver deductions and backpay
  • Managing pensions activities
  • Exporting timesheet hours and carrying out reconciliation to avoid any under/over payments of hours
  • Being the first point of contact for complex payroll queries
  • Working closely with the finance department to produce data for audits and any ad hoc queries
  • Liaising with our payroll software provider and raising cases where needed

Requirements:

  • CIPP qualification or BA (Hons)
  • Experience in running an end-to-end payroll
  • Experience in processing pay for absences and statutory sick pay
  • Confidence in answering complex payroll queries and the ability to communicate effectively with employees who are not payroll minded
  • Experience gained in a busy HR department
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of pensions processes
  • Experience and ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, including vlookups and pivot tables
