Multi-Skilled M&E Shift Engineer Client-Direct (Slough) Continental Shift Pattern £52-55k Salary Annual Bonus Healthcare Training Our client are global Data Centre organisation operating across the USA, Europe and Asia who both own their facilities as well as self-delivering for M&E/critical services. Seeking to bolster their existing engineering teams, they are currently recruiting for a multi-skilled (Electrical or Mechanical bias) building services engineer to join them at one of their data centres in the Slough/Berkshire area. This will be working on a “continental” shift pattern, covering a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts across both days and nights and providing 24/7 coverage to ensure 100% uptime for the site. Guideline salary for this position is between £52-55,000 depending on experience, along with a fantastic benefits package which includes annual bonus, healthcare, pension and the opportunity for overtime and healthy training budget. Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and with at least 5 years of experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance within a commercial building services environment. While advantageous, data centre experience is not essential and experience working on M&E systems within similar or adjacent environments such as pharmaceutical/healthcare/Corporate HQs are also worthy of consideration. Along with core qualifications, additional training such as LV / HV authorisation, 2391, F-Gas, Mechanical AP status, etc will all be beneficial and particular working knowledge should include: Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase Power, Motors, Pumps, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, BMS Operation, Water Treatment, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, Diesel Generators (inc. on-load tests), HV & LV Distribution (Switching, Shut-Downs), Static & Rotary UPS Systems, VESDA, Close Control AC Units, etc. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing shift engineer within building services to join an in-house organisation, and take advantage of the better benefits, dynamic and work security that comes with that as opposed to being service provider side. Notably, this is a rare chance for someone not currently working within the data centre environment to upskill and transition across to one of the fastest growing areas of M&E maintenance engineering globally while having no prior experience in that space but bringing an attitude and enthusiasm which can be moulded by our client
