Experienced Shift Technician working within a mission-critical data centre environment, responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability. Skilled in planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault response, and critical systems monitoring within a 24/7 operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure across the data centre environment
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities in line with operational procedures and SLAs
- Support operation and monitoring of UPS systems, generators, HVAC/cooling equipment, LV/HV systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Respond rapidly to alarms, faults, and emergency incidents to minimise downtime and operational risk
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and fault-finding activities on critical plant and equipment
- Manage permit-to-work procedures and supervise subcontractors carrying out specialist maintenance activities
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health & safety regulations and site operational standards
- Complete detailed shift handovers, incident reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams, site management, and external contractors to maintain high service standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational resilience
