Engineering Services Manager Essex / East London Region Managing Agent £70 – 80,000 Salary Annual Bonus Pension Scheme Healthcare Our client are a global property & real estate organisation, working across both commercial and residential sectors, and have a requirement for an Engineering Manager to be based at one of their long-standing retail campuses in the Essex / East London area. This role will be the technical services lead for all functions and services within the building. Not only will they be an expert in a variety of engineering and technical disciplines, but they also act as the technical ambassador for the development, its occupiers and customers. Guideline salary for this position is up to £80,000 for the right individual, as well as featuring an attractive benefits package including annual bonus, healthcare, pension and progression planning. A client and customer facing role, key to the function will be to implement and maintain effective management of systems and procedures in the delivery and continuity of service of the Mechanical, Electrical, VT, Public Health and IT Infrastructure Services and Energy performance across the development, while protecting and enhancing the landlord’s assets. Also an active involvement in the management of Health, Safety and Wellbeing for all users of the Estate. Reporting into the Centre Director, this role works alongside & collaborates with the property and facilities team , deputising where necessary. The individual will provide strategic technical direction, strong leadership, as well as operational planning and solutions covering MEP, VT operations and Energy Management with a view to providing a world class service. They will act as Managing Agent interface for technical activity with the assistance and support as required by the companies central engineering team. Candidates must be fully qualified in an engineering discipline (mechanical/electrical), ideally having served a full apprenticeship. Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Engineering Management role, or as a hard-services Account Manager/Director within the facilities & maintenance sector. Additional training such as IOSH/NEBOSH, Degree / HND / Chartered status, or management training (ILM/Chartered) would be desirable. Duties will include: Operational/Technical Assist in the oversight of technical services, ensuring proactive asset management, cost-effective solutions and compliance with CAFM systems and energy reporting. Support the development of energy conservation and environmental programs, aligning with the client’s ESG strategy. Implement energy management initiatives through smart optimisation programmes and decarbonisation initiatives. Review building energy analytics to adjust system settings to optimise energy use. To lead on energy conservation by identifying and implementing various options for saving energy MEP Management Develop and maintain maintenance strategies for facilities, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and lease requirements. Ensure adherence to, on behalf of the Landlord and occupiers, the technical obligations within the occupier lease agreements. Manage all base build defects ensuring the information on the defect is sent to the relevant parties until the defect is rectified. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Understand and report on energy performance, utilising ESG KPI’s across Energy, Carbon and Water. Building strong relationships with stakeholders. Support tenant fit outs, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, statutory requirements and energy efficiency standards. Lead ESG initiatives and energy awareness among tenants.
