Lead Engineering Operations Within One of London’s Most Advanced Buildings

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step into a leadership role within a prestigious, technically advanced environment? We are recruiting for an Electrical Shift Leader to join a leading Facilities Management provider, responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of a brand-new landmark commercial development in the heart of the City of London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who is ready to take on more responsibility, lead from the front, and develop their career within a high-profile building featuring some of the most advanced electrical and mechanical systems in the industry. The site is set to become one of the smartest buildings in Western Europe, incorporating advanced environmental controls, individual room temperature and humidity management, water harvesting technology, HV/LV infrastructure, AHUs, FCUs, and complex critical building services.

Experience working with HV systems or HVAP authorisation would be highly advantageous, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to further develop their high-voltage experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting a team of engineers on shift
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems
  • Overseeing fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Maintaining LV electrical systems, switchgear, control panels, lighting, and power distribution
  • Supporting HV operations and assisting with HV-related activities where required
  • Working with generators, UPS systems, pumps, motors, and critical electrical infrastructure
  • Ensuring compliance with site procedures, health & safety standards, and engineering best practice
  • Coordinating contractors and specialist engineers when required
  • Completing maintenance reports, handovers, and engineering documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site

You will ideally have:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent electrical qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Previous experience working within a commercial building services or critical environment
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting engineers
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with HV systems, HVAP status, or a willingness to develop within HV operations
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and critical infrastructure
  • A proactive approach with strong communication and leadership skills
