PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Industrial Cooling & Refrigeration specialist operating and delivering high value projects across the UK with headquarters based in Leicestershire. Due to team expansion and winning new projects, we are seeking a Design Engineer with a background in CO2 Systems, Industrial Cooling Technologies &/or Industrial Refrigeration to support business requirements and oversee key projects.
This is a remote working role with occasional attendance at the Leicester office required as will site visits and site surveys.
Job Purpose
- To design and propose light industrial and commercial systems.
- Detailing costs and designs to customers while meeting legislative and customer specific requirements.
- To create a design from an initial brief and/or drawing, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.
- Produce detailed design, consisting of but not limited to: Cold room heat load calculation, cabinet heat load calculations, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizing.
- Knowledge of CO2 systems essential, Glycol/Chiller experience desirable but not essential.
- Produce data for Design of Contracts project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing if required.
- Take on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion.
- Day to day functions as requested and required by your line manager.
- 2D & 3D CAD Skills (no particular preference on software tools).
