Location: Corsham | Full-time | Shift Pattern

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Shift Technician to support the operation and maintenance of a mission-critical data centre environment. This role is ideal for an experienced building services or facilities professional with a strong understanding of critical infrastructure, compliance, and high-availability systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical building services systems within a 24/7 data centre environment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Monitor BMS and critical alarms, escalating issues in line with site procedures.
  • Support the operation of UPS systems, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, HV/LV infrastructure, fire suppression, and cooling systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, fault finding, and first-line diagnostics to minimise downtime and operational risk.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety regulations, site SOPs, EOPs, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Liaise with specialist subcontractors and support vendor management activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, shift logs, and incident reports.
  • Participate in shift handovers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within critical environments such as data centres, hospitals, banking, utilities, or high-availability facilities.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
  • Familiarity with BMS monitoring and critical infrastructure operations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a rotating shift pattern.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving capability under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
  • Relevant technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • HV/AP awareness or authorisation desirable.
  • IOSH or equivalent health & safety certification advantageous.
