We are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a leading global provider of integrated facilities and real estate services, supporting a critical data center campus in Docklands.
As Technical Manager, you will act as a senior technical authority on site, with responsibility for the performance, integrity, and compliance of all engineering infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and support to the on-site engineering team.
- Ensuring all critical systems (HV/LV, UPS, standby power, HVAC/cooling) are operated and maintained in line with best practice.
- Supporting and leading technical audits, ensuring full compliance with statutory and client requirements.
- Supporting the development and delivery of site-specific training programmes.
- Mentoring, coaching, and technically signing off engineers, supporting their progression and competency development.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, driving high standards in safety, quality, and operational performance.
- Supporting the development of engineering processes, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Working towards (or operating as) Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for HV/LV systems and confined spaces.
- Supporting the training, assessment, and appointment of Authorised Persons across the site.
- Ensuring all switching operations and high-risk activities are properly planned, reviewed, and executed.
Proven experience within a data center or critical environment is required, including:
- HV/LV electrical systems.
- Critical cooling / HVAC infrastructure.
- Previous experience in a technical leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems and risk management.
- Experience in training, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
- HV Authorised Person (or working toward SAP level).
- Water hygiene (L8) knowledge.
- Experience with system commissioning, integration, and handover.
