We are currently recruiting for a Senior Shift Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management provider, supporting the operation and maintenance of a prestigious banking organisation in the heart of the City of London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater responsibility, lead from the front, and develop their career within a prestigious, technically advanced environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting a team of engineers on shift
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems
  • Overseeing fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Maintaining LV electrical systems, switchgear, control panels, lighting, and power distribution
  • Supporting HV operations and assisting with HV-related activities where required
  • Working with generators, UPS systems, pumps, motors, and other critical building services
  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with site procedures, health & safety requirements, and engineering best practice
  • Coordinating contractors and specialist engineers when required
  • Completing maintenance records, shift handovers, reports, and engineering documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement and engineering initiatives across the site
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers within the shift team

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent electrical qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • HVAP qualification/authorisation would be highly advantageous
  • Previous experience within commercial building services, critical environments, or a similar technically complex facility
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting engineering teams
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with HV systems or a genuine desire to develop within HV operations
  • Good knowledge of electrical distribution systems and critical infrastructure
  • Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A proactive and professional approach to engineering and facilities management
