An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Facilities Management and Operational Engineering to support a diverse portfolio of commercial properties across London. This is a varied consultancy role combining:

  • Building services engineering
  • Client advisory
  • Project management
  • Site inspections
  • Maintenance strategy
  • Design & specification work

The position offers a balance of office, hybrid, and site-based work with opportunities to influence projects from concept through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical & electrical maintenance support
  • Condition surveys and technical audits
  • Design, specification & project delivery
  • FM maintenance contract tendering
  • Plantroom inspections and compliance reviews
  • Contractor and specialist coordination
  • Budgeting advice and troubleshooting support
  • Client relationship management
  • Supporting junior engineers and team development

Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years’ experience in Building Services Engineering
  • Strong mechanical design background
  • Experience within FM / operational engineering environments
  • Excellent technical problem-solving ability
  • Confident client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Experience managing hard FM maintenance contracts
