Rate: £22.00/hr plus holiday pay. Mon-Fri circa 40 hours per week
We are recruiting for a Level 2 Graded Coating Inspector to join an engineering team in providing galvanised coating inspection on multiple large scale estates. The role will require travel to each facility and conduct inspections of the required areas and the coating applied to ensure compliance. The position is initially a contract role with van supplied and expenses paid.
Responsibilities include:
- Pre-Surface Inspection
- Environmental Monitoring: Checking ambient temperatures, relative humidity, and dew point to ensure optimal curing conditions.
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT) Testing: magnetic pull-off / eddy current tools to measure the thickness of the applied coating
- Adhesion & Holiday Testing: Conducting pull-off tests or scanning for pinholes to verify the integrity and durability of the paint system
- Dilapidation/ wear inspections: Conduct scheduled repeat inspections over specified time periods
- Documentation: Maintaining meticulous daily logs, recording deviations, and verifying that the work meets standards
- Inspection equipment: Audit the inspection equipment to ensure suitability and effectiveness
- Specifics: Inspection of specific coatings such as galvanising coatings and Industrial wet paint systems
Requirements:
- Experience of performing Coating Inspections within industrial estates
- Experience of Galvanising and Wet paint systems and applications
- NACE Level 2
- Icorr Level 2
- Valid driving license
- Good IT standard and able to record digital information
