One of the world’s largest and most respected data centre organisations is seeking a Junior Data Centre Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join their growing UK team. Working at a state-of-the-art data centre near Gatwick, you will support the maintenance and operation of critical infrastructure, ensuring reliability and uptime.
This role is ideal for a qualified electrician looking to transition into a future-proof and highly sought-after industry. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will assist in the maintenance, testing, and monitoring of electrical and mechanical systems across the site. Working alongside experienced engineers and site management, you’ll help ensure all infrastructure operates to the highest standards while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified Electrician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations)
- Some maintenance experience preferred, but candidates from commercial or industrial installation backgrounds are encouraged
- Backgrounds in production maintenance or the armed forces (especially Royal Navy) are highly desirable
- Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to pass a DBS security check (clean criminal record required)
- Must live within a 30–45 minute commute of the Gatwick area
