Our client, with over 40 years of reputation, is seeking a Critical Data Centre Engineer to join their Reactive and Planned Maintenance Team at a Data Centre site in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will work on a continental shift pattern and receive a £52,000 salary plus an annual 10% bonus.
As a Critical Data Centre Engineer, you will ensure all work activities adhere to procedures and standards. Responsibilities include supporting other Data Center Technicians, troubleshooting, installation, and responding to customer requests.
Key Duties:
- Maintain DX Units
- Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance to high standards
- Evaluate plant and equipment, suggesting improvements
- Maintain electrical and mechanical systems, including Low & High Voltage systems
- Service, test, diagnose, and repair control systems and devices
- Complete PPMs and reactive work within SLA
- Identify faults and diagnose root causes
- Monitor equipment performance to ensure critical services operate correctly
- Manage site permit processes
- Assist with incident investigations
- Support shift engineering teams
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Report on power and fault lights
- Operate UPS and related control systems
- Operate HV systems (training provided)
Requirements:
- City & Guilds Electrical Level 3 qualification
- Experience in data centres or critical environments
- Good building services knowledge
- Excellent client-facing skills
- 18th Edition electrical certification
