A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a mechanically biased maintenance engineer to join a market leading industrial engineering business at their site in Kings Cross. The company has recently invested heavily into the site and installed brand new machinery, and they are now looking to strengthen their engineering team to maintain and improve site operations. This is a brilliant opportunity for the right engineer to develop technically and progress within a large and successful business. Duties

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across production and site machinery
  • Maintaining pumps, motors, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Conducting routine inspections, servicing, and mechanical adjustments to ensure maximum reliability
  • Responding to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
  • Assisting with machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Performing alignment, lubrication, and replacement of mechanical components where required
  • Supporting root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Accurately completing maintenance records and reporting any recurring issues

Requirements

  • Apprentice trained or mechanically qualified (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and progress
