Are you an experienced area manager from the forecourt or convenience retail sector? Looking to join a fast-growing company where you can make a real impact? We’re recruiting for an area manager to oversee a portfolio of company-owned petrol forecourts and convenience retail sites in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This is a field-based role with responsibility for site performance, profitability, team leadership, and operational compliance. What you’ll be doing: * Overseeing the day-to-day operations and performance of multiple forecourt/convenience sites * Driving profitability, implementing company policies, and supporting site managers across the region * Conducting regular shop and forecourt audits, fuel checks, and health & safety reviews * Managing fuel pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategy * Monitoring product ranges, stock levels, and financial performance * Supporting, mentoring, and motivating store managers and their teams * Liaising with third-party suppliers, contractors, and local authorities (e.g. HSE, licensing, environmental officers) * Handling customer complaints and ensuring excellent service standards * Ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with all company and legal standards What we’re looking for: * Proven experience in multi-site management, ideally in forecourt or convenience retail * Strong leadership and communication skills – a motivator, problem-solver, and mentor * Highly organised, commercially minded, and confident working independently * Willingness to travel, with occasional overnight stays as required * A sharp eye for detail and a hands-on approach to improving site performance * Strong numeracy, reporting, and operational skills Why join us? * Competitive salary and package * Autonomy and support to make your mark * A fast-paced, ambitious business with growth plans * Great culture with real career progression opportunities To apply, please contact Ellie at Refuel Talent or apply now through this post
