As the Materials Planning and Procurement Coordinator, you will act as the vital link between our Suppliers, Sales, Sales Administration, and Logistics teams. The Procurement Department is a brand-new addition to our Operations function. This provides a rare opportunity for the right candidate to help shape the department’s foundation and contribute directly to its long-term success. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will also collaborate closely with IT and other operational teams to launch and refine our procurement processes.

This position would suit someone with excellent problem-solving and data analytical skills, with a good understanding of material planning, procurement and fulfilment departments and experience with stakeholder management.

Utilising Sage 200 (MRP) and other planning tools, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle to ensure timely product availability and seamless order fulfilment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • The allocation of Sales Orders to ensure "on-time, in-full" delivery to customers.
  • Maintaining and auditing high-quality data across various internal systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Working alongside the Sales and Procurement Managers to cultivate high-performing supplier relationships and maintain commercial accuracy to drive business value.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and flexible delivery terms that support business agility.
  • Ensuring all supplier documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and reviewed in strict alignment with the Procurement Policy.
  • Conducting regular supplier evaluations backed by tangible, data-driven insights to ensure service levels are met.
  • Serving as an internal subject matter expert on our product range, ensuring that our technical data is robust and that new product launches are executed flawlessly.
  • Utilising a suite of tools including Excel (Advanced), Access, Power BI, and native software reporting modules to produce insight-driven reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrating strong commercial awareness and embracing ad-hoc projects while delivering practical, timely solutions within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Medium to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Direct experience with Sage 200 and CRM systems.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a "launch" environment or helping build a new department.
  • Experience working in the furniture industry or with product components and BOMs.
