An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical Bias) to join a leading building services provider on a brand-new commercial contract recently secured by our client. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the site from day one, with the choice of being based in either Walthamstow or Hendon, depending on your preference. Our client is renowned for its excellent staff retention, internal progression, and commitment to developing its engineers. You’ll be joining a supportive management team on a prestigious new contract where you’ll play an important role in establishing high maintenance standards from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a commercial office building.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, BMS, and control systems.
- Carry out mechanical maintenance on HVAC plant, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, valves, pipework, expansion vessels, and associated building services equipment.
- Fault-find and repair electrical and mechanical plant including generators, UPS systems, and LV infrastructure.
- Monitor plant performance and respond promptly to breakdowns.
- Escort specialist contractors and oversee works where required.
- Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately and work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
Requirements
- NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in either Electrical Installation, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services.
- 18th Edition (required for electrically biased engineers).
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection is advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial building services maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical building services plant.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to delivering a high standard of service.
