As a Vertical Transportation Consultant Associate, you will be integral to the consultancy’s continued success and innovation in the built environment. You will lead projects encompassing lift and escalator systems from early‑stage concepts through to completion (RIBA Stage 7), while also providing expert analysis, design input, and strategic consultancy to clients in both public and private sectors. Based in central London, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with flexibility to work remotely once initial client relationships are established.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage vertical transportation design and consultancy projects, including lifts, escalators, and moving walkways
  • Conduct detailed traffic analysis and technical assessments in line with industry standards
  • Oversee all phases of project development, from concept design through to project close‑out (RIBA Stages 0–7)
  • Undertake condition surveys, feasibility studies, and term consultancy services
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise directly with architects, engineers, and key stakeholders
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering value through proactive and strategic guidance
  • Conduct site visits and attend meetings across London, the South Coast, and occasionally further afield in the UK

  • Demonstrable experience in vertical transportation consultancy or engineering
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation software and strong understanding of lift/escalator design standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with CAD or BIM software is a plus
