About the Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established property and facilities management organisation, is seeking a Technical Support Assistant to join their Engineering and Building Fabric team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in commercial property, facilities management, or building maintenance who is looking to develop their career within a varied and technically focused role. The successful candidate will support the delivery of maintenance programmes, compliance activities, inspections, contractor management, and minor works projects across a diverse property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Operational Support
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Support the management of contractors and service providers delivering maintenance and minor works.
- Review permits to work and associated RAMS documentation.
- Monitor contractor performance, work quality, and completion of tasks.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with site procedures and safe systems of work.
- Building Inspections & Compliance
- Carry out regular property inspections and audits.
- Produce detailed inspection reports identifying maintenance and compliance issues.
- Record findings on relevant management systems.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate remedial works.
- Support health and safety compliance across maintenance and fabric‑related activities.
- Project & Minor Works Coordination
- Assist with the delivery of minor building fabric projects, including:
- Decorations
- Door replacements
- Minor glazing works
- Stone maintenance
- Estate presentation improvements
- General repair works
- Track project progress and support project administration.
- Help ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Reporting & Administration
- Produce maintenance and project reports.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Track outstanding actions and remedial works.
- Support communication relating to operational and building‑related matters.
Skills & Experience
- Experience within commercial property, facilities management, or building maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of contractor management and maintenance operations.
- Understanding of health & safety procedures and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience producing inspection reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
Desirable
- IOSH qualification.
- Experience working within commercial office or mixed‑use property environments.
- Understanding of building fabric maintenance and repair activities.
