About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM Service Provider at a prestigious banking contract located in the heart of the City of London. This is an excellent role for a skilled engineer looking to further develop their career in a dynamic environment. As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical services, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards. You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team and be involved in both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the building.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical services.
- Respond to emergency callouts in line with KPIs and SLAs.
- Maintain mechanical equipment and services to ensure smooth operation.
- Carry out plumbing, pipework repairs, and minor fabric work when required.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
- Supervise subcontractors when necessary.
- Assist the Lead Engineer and Account Manager in meeting all statutory and legislative requirements.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and operational KPIs.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- City & Guilds Mechanical Qualifications (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial buildings
- Experience working in a shift-based role
- Ability to take part in the call‑out rota
- Strong problem‑solving and technical skills
