M&E Engineering Supervisor – £59,000 – London Bridge

Our client, a trusted leader in the industry for over 40 years, is looking for a Critical Engineering Supervisor to join their team at a prestigious Commercial Office Building located by London Bridge. In this key role, the successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £59,000, alongside the opportunity to work in a dynamic and cutting-edge environment.
As the Day Supervisor, you will oversee isolating and restoring power, issuing PTW (Permit to Work) to contractors, and supporting the project during the critical fit-out phase. Leading up to the building’s operational stage, you will receive comprehensive training and play an active role in setting up processes, familiarizing yourself with the building’s systems, and assisting with commissioning activities.

Key Duties:
- Undertake training and building/system familiarization as part of the project’s Soft Landings activities.
- Support fit-out contractor activities, such as isolations, connections, and issuing permits, post-building shell and core handover.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the building, its layout, and functions, through scenario drills, continuous assessments, and staff training.
- Liaise with engineering contractors, shift teams, Engineering Manager, and Permit Manager to plan and execute works.
- Assist maintenance teams during quieter periods on the project.
- Prepare and manage permit-to-work requests as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including those involving directly employed staff and subcontractors.
- Investigate faults, identify root causes, and prepare timely reports on plant and equipment failures.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the Engineering Manager or Shift Leader.
- Continuously seek opportunities for smarter, more efficient ways of working and process improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
- City & Guilds Electrical Competency (Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent apprenticeship).
- 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- ACoPs L8 (Legionella Control).
- IOSH qualification.
- Strong building services knowledge in environments similar to HVAC standards.
- Critical Environment experience.
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
