A leading Facilities Management provider is appointing a Lead Electrical Engineer to take technical ownership of a major commercial building in the City of London. The Role

The Lead Electrical Engineer will hold overall responsibility for the electrical infrastructure across the building, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and performing as required. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Review and sign off electrical works, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Act as the primary electrical contact for the client and senior management team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in site performance, reliability, and safety.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in facilities management or commercial building maintenance. They will be comfortable taking ownership of a site, leading others, and making sound technical decisions in a live environment.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead electrical role within the FM or commercial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical compliance, fault finding, and safe systems of work.
  • Experience supervising engineers and managing subcontractors.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, client‑focused approach.

Desirable

  • Test & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent).
  • Experience working on large or complex commercial buildings.
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance planning.
