We are recruiting for an experienced and highly qualified Electrical Manager to head up all electrical works and operations on a large scale estate in the Glasgow area. Within the role you will be the subject matter expert on all electrical building services and plant room engineering, which will include maintenance, compliance, and small works projects. The role is a permanent position paying up to £65,000 basic. Mon-Fri 40 hours per week.
Electrical Manager Description:
- To oversee and manage all electrical operations and requirements within the estate.
- Ensuring the results of the verification process are accurately recorded on the appropriate certificates or inspection report.
- Undertaking management duties of Technical Placemakers to ensure they are competent and adequately supervised.
- To undertake Contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of Contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
- Issue of Permits to Work.
- Perform management functions common to a facility maintenance and utility plant operations organisation.
- Review and evaluate performance and ensure quality standards are being met.
- Take corrective action to resolve problems.
- Understand the Owner’s building operations rules for the building(s) under care and as provided by the Head of Maintenance and Key Account director.
- Work with Facility Manager to ensure efficient utilisation of staff.
- Make Task assignments as needed for Work Tickets and Preventative Maintenance Work Orders for the O&M Team.
- Solve problems within procedural limitations.
- Ensure staff complete PPMs and Work Orders as scheduled each month.
- Ensure the Operations & Maintenance Documents of Drawings, Manuals, Operational Procedures Manuals (HV & LV), Site Operators Manual, etc. are up to date and neatly stored and easily and readily retrievable.
- Review, edit and maintain SOPS/MOPS/EOPS as appropriate for site operations in line with the site CEM system.
- Within the space provided, ensure that we maintain effective storage and inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Coordinate with Contractors and Vendors as needed for the effective and safe accomplishment of maintenance and project work.
- Provide data for reports as required and other status reports, equipment evaluations or scope of work for outside Contractors as needed.
- Provide or direct equipment and system operational modifications, such as critical switching, lockout/Tagout, and safe working area set up.
- Direct the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Assist in obtaining and evaluating Subcontractor and Vendor quotes for site or facility projects.
- Assist the Head of Maintenance by ensuring all assigned employees are aware of and comply with Company, Government and Client Policies, Procedures, and Regulations.
- Available for 24/7 work and emergency corrective maintenance/action activities.
- Comply with all HSEQ requirements and programmes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years practitioner experience of Electrical Technical Services.
- NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 – Vocational Education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered/Registered/Licensed Engineer – Preferably MIET / MCIBSE for example – OPTIONAL but to be achieved.
- Must have HV and LV experience as an Electrical Authorised Person and have been appointed under HTM 06-02 & HTM 06-03. Update training will be essential.
- Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Experience with Subcontractor and Vendor contract management.
- Experience with capacity planning and reporting.
- Able to use hand tools, test equipment.
- Must have knowledge of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra.
- Able to read, analyse, write procedure manuals, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Experience of High-Risk Activities and evidence of Safe Systems of Work training within the estates.
- Ability to explore a situation, assess and offer different options to formulate a plan that meets or exceeds objectives and expectations.
