Position: Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Type: Permanent, full time
Salary: up to £33,000
Hours: Mon-Fri 40 hours per week (c08:00-17:00)
We are recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant / Handyperson to work on a new secure facility in the Sheffield area and provide general maintenance and compliance oversight to the estate. The Maintenance Assistant / Handyperson will cover both basic hands-on and compliance checks plus supervision of contractors on site.
Facilities Maintenance Assistant / Handyperson Description:
- To complete general handyperson maintenance / PPM’s within the facility
- To complete compliance checks such as; emergency lighting, tap temps (TMV’s), fire alarm test etc.
- To record compliance checks and basic PPM’s
- Minor repairs
- Logging jobs via PDA and communicating with the helpdesk etc.
- Supervise contractors on site and ensure paperwork is logged
- Keep the general maintenance and compliance records up to date
- Complete site “walk-rounds” to new contractors on site
Facilities Maintenance Assistant / Handyperson requirements:
- To have previous handyperson and general maintenance experience
- Ideally to have previous supervisory experience
- Ideally to have some general H&S training such as IOSH or NEBOSH
- Able to operate job recording databases and log records etc.
- To have experience of completing compliance checks such as legionella processes etc.
- Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
- Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
- Willing and able to pass security checks
